……………
Narrator: The scenario - in front of you, a bank of lights, a camera or two and a microphone. Slightly to one side, off-camera, you can just make out a figure.
CUE SLIDE 2 (THE HYPNOTIST)
For our purposes, they are The Interviewer and Facilitator. Tonight, let's call them Fig A.
CUE SLIDE 3 (THE ASTERISK INSIDE THE EYE)
Fig A can almost certainly see you, because you're illuminated by rings of light that produce seared circle-images on the retina. In the flare, Fig A is obscured from vision, or at least they only partially visible and only announced by occasional movement. They exist as peripheral object, an asterisk. At this point, you gesture to a middle space to indicate their presence. They speak.
“And this figure, Fig A, do you recall their voice?”
You imagine what might happen if you introduce a pause now, and you pause before responding, only for a moment though, for the question really has only one answer.
……………
And now you are here again. You look up to Fig A to provide them with their cue.
CUE SLIDE 22 (THE HYPNOTIST)
“Thank you. That will be all for tonight.”
